the mentoring approach we have developed is INTERACTIVE

v

Our focus is to work with you on your path to impact others and make a difference, are seen, heard and understood.

You know who you are, so let us translate that self-confidence and store of capacities into action.

We value authenticity and trustworthiness because it transmits strength and it is central to everything we do

What
Drives Us

SILK MENTORING was born of a vision where women are equal to men, where their contributions to society are valued and where they confidently and authentically contribute their female perspectives, abilities and skills toward their own and others’ wellbeing. In spite of the great advances made in the last century, this vision is still far from reality, but we plan on doing something about it in our own unique way!

“The emancipation of women, the achievement of full equality between the sexes is essential to human progress and the transformation of society. Inequality retards not only the advancement of women but the progress of civilization itself. The persistent denial of equality to one-half of the world’s population is an affront to human dignity.” (UHJ p.41)

From Our Clients

“I reflect if my thoughts will benefit me in my future course of action then I consult with others to better understand the situation. There is power in consultation that is synonymous with courage and to dramatize it more, we should listen to understand, not listen to reply.

I developed greater self-confidence and insight, more rewarding relationships with others and becoming a more effective personality. I realized that true nobility is being superior to one’s former self.”

Director Elect, SI Las Piñas Central District, Metro Manila South , Soroptimist International of the Americas - Philippine Region

“I completed for the 2nd time, the 10-week SILKMentoring Program for Asia Pacific. Russell Zehtab did an amazing job in gathering at least 20 passionate women into a wonderful Sunday afternoon/evening for 10 weeks until June 20, 2021. Though it was my second time in the program, each session felt like it was my first time because of the different perspectives and insights shared by all the participants. Those 10 weeks passed by so swiftly because we had fun even though the topics sounded serious. The grounding brought me into the moment where I could be myself. I also enjoyed all the breakout sessions and activities as they pushed me, in a positive way, to be self-aware, creative… and confident. The program has culminated but SILKMentoring’s Conceptual Framework still lingers. Russell articulated the Framework that is focused on Nobility and Self-Awareness excellently!!! I am claiming NOBILITY to be part of my spiritual lifestyle already. I could never get tired of joining the program as the experience would never be the same. Each day our Nobility is being tested. Each day we negotiate and make decisions. Each day is a new experience. Each day there is a new story to tell. And for every story that we tell, we empower and become empowered. Thank you, Russell for making me a part of this program once again. Count me in if there is another one coming!!!”

“This program encourages you to see things differently. It stimulates you to get out of your shell and to open yourself to possibilities. It shows you that you can make mistakes and you can use your learning from those lapses, to change. Each session opened my mind and motivated me to grow.”

“I can honestly say that I’ve not experienced group mentoring like this before. Beforehand I really wasn’t sure what outcomes to expect but the learning, content and connections were very impactful. Although some of the discussions were at quite a deep level, they were very powerful in the way they were facilitated and will have a lasting, positive effect with regards my Self-awareness and Nobility towards myself and others. I’d highly recommend this programme, and Russell truly is an inspirational mentor and facilitator with an amazing way of delivering the content!”

There was one piece of advice from Miss Russell that made me more encouraged to continue this program, it was something I needed. As I said, my weakness is comparing myself to others, and it has pressured me to achieve. We had an icebreaker, for our icebreaker, we had to draw something that was distracting our peace of mind. I drew something that represents me comparing myself to people, I explained further what my drawing meant and the reason for the message. After that, Miss Russell agreed with me that comparing myself to others can affect my peace of mind. She told me that instead of comparing myself to others, I’ll compare myself to the person I was before. When we do that, we will feel better about ourselves because we realize how much we have grown. We feel bad about ourselves because what’s hard for us, could be easy for others. I can’t argue with you that the world feels like a race sometimes. We should remind ourselves that learning comes in different shapes and sizes. As well to that we have different strengths and weaknesses. When we feel tired, we shouldn’t pressure ourselves because being tired doesn’t mean you’re weak. It means that we have worked so hard to reach our goal that we need a reward even when it doesn’t feel like it. (full testimonial in Blog section)

SILKMentoring GIRL's Empowerment Feb-Apr 2022

The SilkMentoring Empowering Cycle has helped me so much these past few weeks. I’ve met so many amazing new people, it was a very great experience for me. It really helped me come out of my comfort zone. At first, I was very nervous because I would be meeting many new people who I had to interact with, but once I started talking to them, it felt so natural – it was really a safe place wherein I could speak about anything and not be judged by it. This empowering cycle has been very helpful to me because it made me want to become the best version of myself. The program has helped me understand and respect the people around me and most importantly, it helped me understand and respect myself. I am very thankful for being able to participate in this program, it has really helped me grow and I will do my best to continue growing with what I have learned.

SILKMentoring GIRL's Empowerment Cycle Feb-Apr 2022

I am so blessed to join the SILKMentoring and SIAPR Empowerment Leadership program. Our mentor Russell excellently handles her class. She is down to earth. She makes us feel comfortable. Even if it is virtual, I felt the closeness of the group. I did not want the 10-sessions to end. All the topics are about realizations – who you are and how to develop yourself. I realized that I had to be more careful and practice self-awareness. I wanted to be more confident, continue doing good things and remain nice. While attending these sessions, I realized age is not an assurance of maturity. I still need some improvement and continued education. I would like to thank Russell for taking the time to reach out us individually. our learnings in the sessions included Nobility, self-awareness,  wisdom and creativity, empathy and sympathy, intuition,  the power of presence, building confidence, decision making, setting boundaries, how to do negotiations and so forth. With Russell, I was able to release my heart ache that that was pulling me down and I almost forgot how to love myself. I felt insecure and desperate to the extent that I wanted to quit being nice, just keep silent and walk through life like a ghost. The sessions with Russell and the sharing of my SILK classmates inspired me, it enlightened me to  the bright side of life, it boosted my morale and helped me to again build my confidence. After this cycle, I feel differently. I am happy. I learned also to just be myself, to trust myself  and think/focus on the people who care for and love me.
